Tilly O’Neill Gordon, MP for Miramichi, is resending out a call to all budding artists attending high school in the riding. Enter your works of art in our Drawing Contest!
We are looking for drawings representing the 12 months of the year to decorate our 2011 calendar. The suggested themes for each month are shown below.
The maximum number of drawings you can submit is 12, and all drawings must have been done by you and signed by a teacher to confirm their authenticity. Please be sure to submit your completed portfolio before Friday, October 22, 2010.
The drawings should be on paper measuring:
a.12 cm by 20 cm;
b.15 cm by 25 cm; or
c.18 cm by 30 cm
They can be in colour or black and white. (The drawings will be printed in black and white in the calendar but will appear in colour on Tilly’s website (www.tillygordon.ca) and on her Facebook page.)
Here are the suggested themes for each month:
January: Winter scenes or sports
February: Pond Hockey
March: St. Patrick’s Day / La francophonie / Spring
April: Easter
May: Mother’s Day / Fishing / Families
June: Saint-Jean Baptiste Day / Escuminac disaster / Aboriginal Peoples / Father’s Day
July: Canada Day / Summer / Vacations
August: New Brunswick Day / National Acadian Day
September: Back to School / The Environment (Maple Leaf Day)/ Autumn
October: World Teacher’s Day / Thanksgiving / Hallowe’en
November: Remembrance Day (Armistice)
December: Christmas / The Holiday Season
The title of each winning drawing and the artist’s name will be printed in the 2011 calendar, which will be distributed to all homes in the riding. With the artists’ permission, all drawings may also appear in other communications materials produced by Tilly O’Neill Gordon.
REGISTRATION AND PARTICIPATION
There is no entry fee but all participants must prepare a portfolio containing the following:
- YOUR DRAWINGS (please write your name on the back of each drawing)
- A COMPLETED ENTRY FORM*
- YOUR SIGNATURE AND YOUR TEACHER’S SIGNATURE (at the bottom of the form)
* In accordance with the Privacy Act, we will not disclose your personal information. This information will be used only to contact the contest winners.
