Ottawa, Ontario - On Sunday, June 21, Canadians of every origin are invited to celebrate National Aboriginal Day.
It is an opportunity for the Inuit, the Métis and the members of First Nations to express the deep pride they feel in their heritage and their successes.
Member of Parliament for Miramichi, Tilly O’Neill Gordon, wants to acknowledge their contribution to the Canadian culture: “Let us pay tribute to the Aboriginal and Métis, who have learned how to live together in a bilingual and multicultural society and who inspire us by their diversity”.
“Who can deny the force of your convictions or the great pride your people feel in you”, added MP O’Neill-Gordon.
As Canadians explore the rich and diversified cultures of the Inuit, the Métis and the First Nations, barriers are falling and links of friendship are starting to be forged.
“National Aboriginal Day is for all Canadians -- be part of the celebration!” Tilly O’Neill Gordon concluded.
