Miramichi (New Brunswick) – On the occasion of the New Brunswick Day, on Monday August 2rd, MP for Miramichi Tilly O’Neill Gordon would like to wish all New Brunswickers a Happy 226th Birthday!
I am delighted to recognize our wonderful province’s birthday,” she said. “New Brunswick is a great place to live, and we are lucky to be surrounded by such warm and welcoming people. We have a rich history and we are living in the only province officially bilingual in our country.”
New Brunswick Day has been observed since 1976. In 1989, the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Heritage took responsibility for this event. Since 1990, it has been celebrated in cities, towns and villages across the province.
MP Tilly O’Neill Gordon will be celebrating, among other things, at the Official opening of the 53rd Miramichi Folk Song Festival, and she invites you to join her there.
I would like to invite all New Brunswickers, especially those from the Miramichi riding, to come celebrate our culture by participating in various festivities. Have fun and be careful!” concluded O’Neill Gordon.
