Miramichi, New Brunswick – Member of Parliament for Miramichi, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, sent this statement when she learned the sad news.

“I was deeply sadden to learn of the fire which destroyed the Rogersville village office and fire hall early Monday morning.

The loss of such vital buildings and services is a great tragedy. It is especially tragic for a place like Rogersville that has such a strong community spirit. I know that through cooperation the people of Rogersville will overcome this disaster.

On behalf of the government of Canada I would like to extend my deepest sympathies and look forward to seeing these facilities rebuilt.”
