Ottawa, Ontario – Tilly O’Neill Gordon, MP for Miramichi celebrates Labour Day!

Labour Day, once known as International Workers’ Day, is an annual international holiday. It is officially celebrated on the first Monday of September.

This year, on September 7, workers in Canada will celebrate Labour Day. The Member for Miramichi, Tilly O’Neill Gordon, wishes to recognize the contribution of all Canadians to our country’s well-being.

“Our country is strong and prosperous thanks to the efforts of all workers in Miramichi and Canada,” said O’Neill Gordon. “Labour Day is a time to pay tribute to all the men and women who create our country’s wealth.”

Labour Day is celebrated every year, providing an opportunity to recognize progress on the labour front. These achievements include new initiatives, legislation and regulations in the Government of Canada’s Economic Action Plan to respond to the difficult economic realities of recent months.

“The federal government has worked very hard to stimulate our country’s economy. I am proud of our government’s effort”, concluded Tilly O’Neill Gordon.
